LA PALMA
Located in the department of Chalatenango in the Northern part of the country.

A very important Salvadorean painter, Fernando Llort who painted the Metropolitan Cathedral, taughtvlocal artisans to paint in wood with a style called Naif.

JOYA DE CEREN
This is one of the most intersting archaelogical sites in El Salvador and it is the only place in the Mayan world where you can see the normal everyday life of the Mayas.
It is located in San Andres Valley.
TAZUMAL
The Tazumal pyramid is located in Chalchuapa City in the departmentof Santa Ana.
Tazumal means: "The place where victims were burned.
Some of the discoveries are related with the big City of Tehotihuacan in Mexico.

COLONIAL
The city of Suchitoto is one of the most important colonial towns in the country. There you can enjoy the great Colonial Church from 1853, its major altar has marvellous paintings and scilptures brougght from Spain. Also, you can see the stone streets, adobe houses, colonial architecture and the Suchitlan lake which was biuilt by men, you can enjoy a boat trip if you want to have much more fun.

RUTA DE LAS FLORES
To get a real view of the Salvadorean countryside you have to take "La Ruta de las Flores." This is a group of towns, Nahuizalco, Juayua and Apaneca. There you can visit some coffee plantations and places where the coffee is processed like "La Majada," a famous cooperative, where there is a museum of coffee machinery.
